South America
The Americas Program houses most of CSIS’s expertise on the wide variety of political, economic, social and security challenges facing this continent.
CSIS conducts research on corruption, forced displacement, and involuntary migration, and the impact of the erosion of democratic institutions on U.S. and regional security and defense priorities.
The Americas Program works together with the Project on Prosperity and Development, Simon Chair in Political Economy, the Scholl Chair in International Business, the Global Health Policy Center, and the Energy and National Security Program to better understand these regional policy issues and contribute to practical and timely policy research on South America.
