Political transformation and a shift away from populist regimes have marked the last several years, with more instability and change in the works. Corruption has become a major issue in a growing number of countries of the region. CSIS conducts research on the factors pushing this transformation and driving development in one of the world’s most dynamic regions. The Americas Program leads this work in close collaboration with the Simon Chair in Political Economy, the Scholl Chair in International Business, the Global Health Policy Center, and the Energy and National Security Program.
