Defense Budget
Tracking the foremost budget issues in the defense policy sphere.
The United States allocates hundreds of billions of dollars annually to support its national security. To assess how that funding is spent and its policy implications for defense more broadly, CSIS conducts nonpartisan research on and analysis of the U.S. defense budget and related issues including military readiness, force structure, and defense acquisitions. This research is led by the Defense Budget Analysis Program and the Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy.
