Ilya Timtchenko

Ilya Timtchenko is the program manager and research associate with the Project on Prosperity and Development at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he supports the program’s research agenda, business development, and management. Before joining CSIS, Ilya pursued his MPP at the Harvard Kennedy School and was a fellow at the Belfer Center. Ilya was a research assistant under Belfer’s Future of Diplomacy Project and the Intelligence Project. At Harvard, Ilya wrote his senior recommendation paper on Ukraine’s medium- to long-term reconstruction for USAID under the supervision of Robert Zoellick, former president at the World Bank Group. Ilya is the founder of the Ukraine Caucus, a student organization at the Harvard Kennedy School. Before studying at Harvard, Ilya worked as a journalist and editor in Ukraine since 2014. Ilya has been published in Foreign Affairs, the Washington PostForeign PolicyNewsweek, the National Interest, and Cipher Brief, among others.
