Nikos Tsafos is a senior fellow with the Energy and National Security Program at CSIS. He has advised companies and governments in over 30 countries on some of the world’s most complex energy projects—first with PFC Energy (now IHS Markit) and then with enalytica, a company he co-founded in 2014. He is also an adjunct lecturer at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he teaches a graduate-level course on natural gas markets and projects. He has written and spoken widely on energy, economics, and politics; he is the author of Beyond Debt: The Greek Crisis in Context (2013); numerous articles in Foreign Affairs, the National Interest, and others; and research papers for the German Marshall Fund of the United States and the National Bureau of Asian Research. Nikos holds a B.A. in international relations and economics from Boston University and an M.A. in international relations from SAIS.
