South Korea Launches "Stay Strong" Campaign

CSIS has tracked closely South Korea’s efforts to contain the COVID-19 virus. On April 10, South Korea launched a social media campaign supporting the global fight against COVID-19. The #StayStrongCampaign calls for collective action from social media users to join South Korea in a coordinated effort encouraging resilience among members of the global community. Here’s how it works:
  1. Re-create the Stay Strong logo by using the online generator to type in a personalized slogan.
  2. Upload your logo to your social media account(s).
  3. Tag three friends and nominate them to continue the movement.

The campaign has already picked up traction with prominent Congress members, government officials, and organizations offering words of encouragement.

Dr. John Hamre and Dr. Victor Cha decided to follow suit by sharing their own sentiments endorsing this movement on behalf of CSIS:

“Korea has done an excellent job navigating the pandemic. America has a lot to learn from our Korean brothers and sisters.  And we strongly affirm the “Stay Strong” theme and message to the world.”

Dr. John Hamre, President and CEO, Langone Chair in American Leadership

“Korea has demonstrated what a society and a government can do when it comes together to combat an unprecedented pandemic. ”

Dr. Victor Cha, Senior Adviser and Korea Chair
