The Humanitarian Agenda explores and highlights the changing landscape of humanitarian assistance in the 21st century. The program is a part of a unique partnership between CSIS and the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA).
The Humanitarian Agenda is a center-wide program which leverages the expertise and research of CSIS programs across the organization. The program is intentionally flexible and designed to encourage a dynamic analysis of trends and opportunities as they unfold. While specific focal topics are forthcoming, it is anticipated that activities will explore three core areas: public-private partnerships and the role of innovation in the humanitarian sector; effective policies that foster preparedness, risk management, resilience, and rapid recovery from shocks; and the U.S. government’s leadership, partnerships, and investments in humanitarian assistance.
