This initiative seeks to streamline and clarify the criteria necessary for entities to be recognized as captive-generating plants or consumers, offering a clearer path for the adoption of captive-generation facilities. Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) issues order stating that buildings lacking approved maps from local municipal bodies will face a substantial surge in electricity charges. Consumers falling under this category will be subjected to the highest slab of domestic rates, set at Rs 6.25 ($0.075) per unit. Infrastructure & Governance

Karnataka amends the rules for in-situ sewage treatment plants (STPs), providing relief to apartment communities in areas with underground drainage (UGD) lines. As per the amendment, only apartment complexes with over 120 units and producing over 80 kilolitres (KLD) of sewage per day will have to install an in-situ STP. At present, an STP is mandatory for projects above 50 units. However, in areas yet to be serviced by UGD lines, an in-situ STP is mandatory for all projects with over 20 units. Source: The Hindu

Center – State Relations 

State Bank of Indiareleases the “State” of the state of economy report claiming that the average growth rate post pandemic grew to 8.1 percent as compared to the pre pandemic average of 5.7 percent. Out of the 235-basis points growth, Maharashtra (56 bps) and Uttar Pradesh (40 bps) contributed the most, and 90 percent contribution was from the top 10 states. In terms of gross per capita income growth in a decade preceding FY23, Gujarat showed the highest growth of 2.2X, followed by Karnataka, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Haryana, and Tamil Nadu. Arunachal Pradesh legislative assembly elects 10 candidates out of the total 60 seats in the state. All 10 candidates hailing from the BJP include the sitting Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister ChownaMein have filed for nomination unopposed by any other candidate.
