
Luis Simón is a senior associate (non-resident) with the Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Hes also director of the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) School of Governance and the Brussels office of the Elcano Royal Institute. He received his PhD from the University of London and held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies (Columbia University). Luis specializes in international security, great power competition, and transatlantic relations. He has recently won a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant to examine the impact of U.S.-China competition on Europe.
