All About the Base | AATB on Location: Conversations from AUSA

This episode of All About the Base, a video series analyzing critical industrial base topics, explores the technologies and systems industry is developing to support the U.S. Army. Filmed at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., the episode takes viewers onto the exhibition floor of one of North America’s premier land power events, where defense companies showcase their latest capabilities and connect with Army leaders, government officials, and industry partners. The 2026 exhibition brought together hundreds of exhibitors and a global defense community to discuss Army priorities, emerging technologies, and the future of land power.

Host Dr. Jerry McGinn, Director of the Center for the Industrial Base, speaks with a range of industry stakeholders about the technologies and systems they are showcasing at AUSA, their experiences at the conference, and their engagement with Army customers. The conversations highlight the capabilities companies are bringing to the exhibition, the opportunities they see for their technologies, and how they hope to work with the Army to address operational needs.

Across these discussions, industry representatives share their perspectives on integrating new technologies and systems into Army operations, aligning industry innovation with military requirements, and building partnerships to advance capability development and adoption. Together, the conversations offer a view into how defense companies are working to support Army modernization and strengthen the industrial base that underpins U.S. land power.

The All About the Base series is made possible by general funding to CSIS.
