The CSIS Pacific Partners Initiative is pleased to host an event on Building a Blue Pacific Agenda for the 21st Century on June 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm EDT. This event will feature opening comments from Kurt Campbell (Deputy Assistant to the President and Coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs, National Security Council), and a panel discussion featuring Ambassador Satyendra Prasad (Permanent Representative of Fiji to the United Nations), Ambassador Fatumanava-o-Upolu III Pa’olelei Luteru (Permanent Representative of Samoa to the United Nations), Ambassador Gerald M. Zackios (Ambassador of the Republic of the Marshall Islands to the United States of America), and Monica P. Medina (Assistant Secretary for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, Department of State).

In recent years, the Pacific region has grown in strategic significance to the United States within the broader Indo-Pacific region. Join the CSIS Pacific Partners Initiative as we assess recent developments in the region and U.S. relations with Pacific Islands Countries, and explore how the Pacific views the role of the region in the world today in an increasingly contested geopolitical landscape.

This event is made possible by support from the Embassy of New Zealand and the Embassy of Australia.
