The CSIS Australia Chair cordially invites you to A Conversation with Ambassador Kevin Rudd, Australia's New Ambassador to the United States.

Tuesday, June 6, 2023 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm EDT
Wednesday, June 7, 2023 3:30 am - 4:30 am AEDT

As regional geopolitical tensions have increased over the last several years, Australia has emerged as a critical ally of the United States in, and beyond, the Indo-Pacific region. The March AUKUS announcement, together with President Biden's meeting with Prime Minister Albanese and other Quad leaders on the sideline of the G7 Summit have reaffirmed the importance of U.S.-Australia bilateral ties.

Please join us as the Hon Dr. Kevin Rudd AC, Australia's Ambassador to the United States, offers his insights into Australia's expanding role in the Indo-Pacific, and lays out his priorities and challenges as Australia's Ambassador to the United States. Ambassador Rudd formerly served as Australia’s 26th Prime Minister from 2007 to 2010, then as Foreign Minister from 2010 to 2012, before returning to the Prime Ministership in 2013.

This event will feature an introduction by Anthony Pratt, Chairman of Visy and Pratt Industries, an address by Ambassador Rudd, and a conversation between Ambassador Rudd and CSIS Senior Adviser and Australia Chair Charles Edel

CSIS's Australia Chair conducts independent policy research aimed at strengthening U.S.-Australia relations. The Chair is endowed through the generosity of Pratt Industries.
