The CSIS Southeast Asia Program is honored to host Mari Pangestu, Professor of International Economics at the University of Indonesia, as part of the ASEAN Leadership Forum. Dr. Pangestu formerly served as Managing Director of Development Policy and Partnerships at the World Bank. She also formerly served as Minister of Trade and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy for Indonesia. This public event will take place on May 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at CSIS. Drawing from her extensive experience in government, academia, and international organizations, Dr. Pangestu will provide her perspective on economic headwinds facing the region, including the climate crisis and food and energy security.

The CSIS ASEAN Leadership Forum provides a platform for senior officials from Southeast Asia to address pressing issues of the day before a Washington, DC-based policy audience.
