Michael Casey

The Honorable Michael Casey most recently served as the director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, retiring from that post in January 2025. Nominated to that position in 2023, he was the second Senate-confirmed NCSC director. In that role he served as the chief counterintelligence official of the United States and was responsible for a variety of security and counterintelligence-related policies and programs. Prior to moving to the executive branch, Mike served as the staff director for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, a position he held for over seven years. In that capacity and in conjunction with the minority staff director, he oversaw the staff of the committee as they helped the members of the committee oversee all operations of the Intelligence Community. Mr. Casey also served as a professional staff member on the House Armed Services Committee for over nine years. There he was responsible for policy covering wide swaths of the world and Department of Defense operations. Before moving to the executive branch, he spent over 27 years on Capitol Hill in a variety of positions, most related to national security. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and holds an MA from Georgetown University. Mr. Casey is the proud husband of Sara and the father of an 18-year-old daughter who sometimes looks up from her phone.
