Jon Wolfsthal is a fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He is a former special assistant to the president for national security affairs and senior director at the National Security Council for arms control and nonproliferation. Before that, he was deputy director of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, CA. He joined the Martin Center after having served as special adviser to the vice president for nuclear security and nonproliferation and as a director for nonproliferation on the National Security Council from 2009 to 2012.
