Analyzing the Role of Blockchain Technology in Strengthening Democratic Institutions

October 25, 2023 • 2:00 – 3:00 pm EDT

Please join the CSIS Project on Prosperity and Development (PPD) on Wednesday, October 25th from 2:00-3:00 PM as we examine the potential of blockchain technology in connection to opportunities and challenges associated with supporting democracy, preventing disinformation, and combating corruption around the world.

Blockchain is a tamper resistant technology associated with data integrity, and it has current and potential applications associated with building transparency and trust, including in developing country contexts. Like all technologies, it also has the potential to be misused or misunderstood. It is for these reasons that we are exploring the value of blockchain to strengthening democratic institutions from a number of different angles and within various contexts, including Ukraine.

This event is made possible through the support of Hedera Hashgraph.
