Inside Army Innovation: Conversations at the Army Demand Signal Forum | All About the Base

This episode of All About the Base, a video series analyzing critical industrial base topics, explores the growing connection between Army demand, defense innovation, and the companies developing technologies to meet emerging military needs. As the Army works to modernize its capabilities and accelerate the adoption of new technologies, connecting warfighter requirements with the companies, investors, and innovators developing those capabilities is increasingly important.

The Army Demand Signal Forum brings together Army leaders, defense technology companies, investors, and other industry stakeholders to communicate validated demand and connect emerging technologies with the capabilities the Army needs. The forum focuses on four key areas of Army demand: contested logistics, long-range fires, autonomous systems, and command and control. It provides an opportunity for defense companies to showcase their capabilities while giving industry and investors greater insight into Army modernization priorities and acquisition pathways.

Host Dr. Jerry McGinn, Director of the Center for the Industrial Base, spoke with defense innovators participating in the forum about their companies, the technologies they are bringing to the fight, and the importance of innovation to the future of national security. Interviews with leaders from companies including Chariot Defense, Hybron, Dmaterial, and Aurelius Systems, as well as venture capital and Army leaders, offer perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the defense technology ecosystem. Together, their perspectives highlight the importance of creating stronger connections between military demand, private investment, and the companies developing the next generation of defense capabilities.
