Amid ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and intensifying geopolitical tensions, policymakers from the United States, Japan, and other countries are increasingly concerned about vulnerabilities related to economic disruptions and resource chokepoints. How can these countries work together to bolster their economic security in areas such as supply chain resilience and technological innovation? How can they strengthen their energy security while also addressing environmental concerns? On Thursday, September 24, the CSIS Japan Chair and the Japan Economic Foundation will convene leading experts to analyze these pressing economic and energy security challenges and to discuss opportunities for the United States and Japan to play a leadership role in addressing these problems at home and abroad.
