January 17, 2025 • 11:00 – 11:45 am EST

On November 4, 2024, the U.S. Department of State announced the inaugural International Disability Rights Handbook, with the objective of underscoring disability inclusion as a foreign policy priority and integrating disability rights and accessibility across the U.S. Department of State and its diplomatic missions.

The Diversity and Leadership in International Affairs Project (DLIA) is pleased to host Sara Minkara, Special Advisor on International Disability Rights and lead strategist for advancing disability inclusion at the U.S. Department of State. Special Advisor Minkara will join DLIA Director Hadeil Ali to discuss her office's accomplishments during the Biden Administration and share her insights on promoting and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities internationally and in policymaking.
