Sub-Saharan African governments and their foreign partners want the same things: peace and security, robust trade and investment, sustainable urbanization, profitable green technologies, strengthened health systems, and digital transformation. Whether through “bilats,” delegations, or multilateral conferences, these focus areas will represent key pillars of sub-Saharan Africa’s international engagement over the next few decades. The region’s central role in each of these focus areas means that partnerships with African states will significantly shape the 21st century. But what should these partnerships look like?

Join the CSIS Africa Program on January 28, 2022, from 8:30 – 9:30 am ET for Prioritizing Partnerships with Africa. Speakers will explore how the United States and other like-minded partners can meaningfully engage with African counterparts on a number of pressing issues to realized shared goals. They will also highlight the key role of summits in building closer relationships with Africa.

Stay tuned for another panelist announcement!
