Andrew Faulhaber

Andrew Faulhaber is a visiting fellow with the Intelligence, National Security, and Technology Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He is a recognized expert in defense and cyber strategy as well as in Indo-Pacific security, and his research focuses on near-peer conflict analysis, the defense of Taiwan, asymmetric warfare, global cyber threats, and critical infrastructure protection. Prior to joining CSIS, he served as a U.S. Army officer, spearheading the development of strategic national security policy and execution across numerous echelons within the military and broader U.S. government. His extensive leadership background includes serving in multiple director-level positions managing high-stakes defense portfolios. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree from the Virginia Military Institute. A frequent contributor to defense literature, his recent analysis has been featured in the Yale Journal of International Affairs and the U.S. Air Force Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs.
