David Peng is a senior fellow for data science with the iDeas Lab at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He has over 15 years of experience in quantitative research. Prior to joining CSIS, he was a Research Scientist at Meta within the Ground Truth Measurement team. His work focused on methods to improve ground truth data in support of machine learning initiatives. Before that, he was the Chief Statistician and Vice President of Research at D3 Systems, where he helped build and lead the Statistics and Analytics team. There he worked on quantitative social science research throughout the world for a wide variety of clients ranging from the Department of Defense to Sesame Workshop. He holds a MS in Statistics, BS Statistics and BA in International Studies and Spanish from Virginia Tech.
