Emily Wilson

Emily is a research associate for the Global Development Department (GDD) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). Her work focuses on the future of U.S. foreign assistance, promoting human well-being, and sustainable development. She joined GDD after interning for the CSIS Sustainable Development and Resilience Initiative and Project on Prosperity and Development. Emily is also a research mentorship fellow at the Climate and Water Initiative, studying the risks and opportunities of building data centers in water-scarce countries. Prior to CSIS, Emily was an environmental affairs intern at the United Nations. She was also a U.S. Fulbright scholar in Oman, studying renewable energy and decarbonization, and an Arabic-language Boren fellow in Jordan. She holds a BA in geography and international relations and later received an MS in sustainable organizations and policy, both from Syracuse University, where she was also a research fellow on climate resilience.
