Michael P. Galvin
Michael Galvin cofounded and serves as president of Harrison Street Capital, LLC (HSC), which operates a diversified portfolio of private equity business platforms in real estate, private equity buyouts/build-ups, and venture technology. HSC’s investment focus is in the essential, need-based, less cyclical, asset light, growth business sectors, including education, health care, infrastructure (storage and software), and management consulting to defense, intelligence, and key safety agencies of government. Mr. Galvin is also cofounder and vice chair of Gore Creek Asset Management, LLC, which is a diversified, modern portfolio wealth management investment manager. Mr. Galvin serves on the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Institute of Technology, Business Executives for National Security, National Strategy Forum, and Sibley Hospital Foundation. Prior to these current involvements, he was president of Galvin Enterprises, Inc., which owned and managed a venture capital portfolio of investments in software, biotechnology and real estate development. Mr. Galvin served during the George H.W. Bush administration as the assistant secretary of commerce for export administration, the agency that manages national security strategic trade programs and policy. Mr. Galvin started his career as a corporate finance transactions attorney at Winston & Strawn, where he was elected and practiced as a partner. Mr. Galvin received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College, and received his graduate law degree from the IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law.
