The CSIS Geoeconomics Council convenes leading economists, strategists, and technologists from across industries to evaluate, develop, and incubate policy ideas at the intersection of economics and geopolitics. By drawing on private-sector expertise, the Council provides a unique forum for advancing solutions to issues impacting U.S. competitiveness and economic security.

The Council meets quarterly at CSIS, where council members are joined by CSIS scholars, industry experts, and policymakers. The Council operates under Chatham House Rule, empowering it to host frank discussions among the many stakeholders in the U.S. economy.

The Geoeconomics Council is hosted by the Economics Program and Scholl Chair in International Business, which provides policymakers with recommendations to strengthen America's economic security and strategic position in an increasingly complex global economy.
