There are growing uncertainties in Northeast Asia due to North Korea’s nuclear ambition, rekindled historical disputes in Korea-Japan relations, China’s growing assertiveness and U.S.-China great power competition. This project explores the opportunities and challenges to the U.S.-ROK alliance in the region as well as major policy issues concerning North Korea, Korea-Japan relations, and Korea-China relations.
