Beijing Rules: How China Weaponized its Economy to Confront the World

In her new book Beijing Rules: How China Weaponized Its Economy to Confront the World, Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian, China Reporter at Axios, examines China's economic rise and how the Chinese Communist Party has leveraged its dominant role in the global economy to coerce companies and governments around the world to align with its political preferences.

Please join the CSIS Australia Chair Charles Edel on August 1st at 2:00pm EDT for a conversation with Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian to discuss the Chinese government's use of economic coercion abroad, the effects of that coercion on various countries, and how democratic nations are responding.

CSIS's Australia Chair conducts independent policy research aimed at strengthening U.S.-Australia relations. The Chair is endowed through the generosity of Pratt Industries.
