The CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Global Health Security will host a book launch for Collapse and Resiliency: The Inside Story of Liberia's Unprecedented Ebola Response by Dr. Tolbert Nyenswah and Dr. Mardia Stone. This public in-person and webcast conversation will take place on Monday, November 20 from 4:30-5:30pm, with an in-person only reception and book signing from 5:30-6:30pm. Books will be available for purchase at the event provided by East City Books.

In Collapse and Resiliency, Tolbert Nyenswah presents an insider’s view of Liberia’s response to the deadly Ebola epidemic. Nyenswah describes the fascinating journey from his childhood in a rural Liberian village to leading his country’s response to the deadly outbreak, providing a deeply personal account of how the epidemic was finally controlled despite a depleted healthcare system. In the only Ebola book written by a native African, Nyenswah reflects on the impacts of war and disease on the struggle to rebuild a more resilient health system and functioning society.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
