Bundibugyo Ebola
An Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus, beginning in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda in May 2026, has set off alarm bells across the world. As partners race to control the outbreak, CSIS will continue to publish analysis and highlight lessons learned in prior epidemics that could guide the current response.
This work is made possible through the generous support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and general support to CSIS.
