CSIS is pleased to continue its series of discussions on advanced technology, led by Dr. Dario Gil, Senior Vice President and Director of Research for IBM and a member of the CSIS Board of Trustees. Dr. Gil leads periodic discussions with technology pioneers in America, bringing insights to the policy community about technologies on the horizon that will have transformative impact on America's economy and society.
The second discussion will be with Dr. Dario Gil and Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan, moderated by Dr. John Hamre. Dr. Panchanathan is the director of the U.S. National Science Foundation. Dr. Panchanathan is a computer scientist and engineer with more than three decades of experience. Throughout his career, Dr. Panchanathan has been a leader in both higher education and government, where he has designed and built knowledge enterprises that advance research innovation, strategic partnerships, entrepreneurship, global development, and economic growth. The focus of this seminar will be the need for a national computing strategy.
