Inside the Reagan White House
Please join CSIS on Wednesday, March 19 at 4:00pm EDT for a conversation with Frank Lavin on his new book, Inside the Reagan White House.
Lavin’s Inside the Reagan White House provides a compelling “inside look at the most successful president of modern times.” This distinctive biography unpacks key moments of Reagan’s presidency from the Reagan assassination attempt to Gorbachev and the Reykjavik summit, Ollie North and the Contras, the 1988 Bush-Dukakis contest—among other critical moments of that era. CSIS’s Alex Kisling will moderate an in-depth conversation with Lavin to discuss these original insights on Ronald Reagan and his presidency as he worked to push back against the Soviet Union, promote democracy, improve trade, lower taxes, and reduce the size and scope of government.
Frank Lavin served on the National Security Council staff as well as White House Director of Political Affairs in the Reagan Administration. Lavin later served in the Bush (41) and Bush (43) administrations; in the latter, serving as Ambassador to Singapore and Under Secretary for International Trade at the Department of Commerce. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution.
