From Insight to Policy: Partnering with African Expertise to Inform U.S.–Africa Policy and Engagement
Brought to you by
Please join the CSIS Africa Program for a discussion on opportunities and partnerships to engage innovative African-led research and analysis to inform critical policy areas relevant to the U.S. and African countries. U.S.–Africa policy engagements are facing significant geopolitical shifts impacting how policy is developed and implemented in areas such as trade and investment, security cooperation, and the prevention and management of conflict. The conversation will take stock of a rapidly evolving U.S.-Africa relationship, identify common priorities, and share models for incorporating African perspectives in policy processes.
The event will open with remarks from CSIS CEO and President, Ret. General Joseph Dunford, followed by a panel moderated by CSIS Africa Program Director and Senior Fellow, Oge Onubogu. The panel will feature distinguished advisory board members of a new network hosted by the Africa Program: Felicia Appenteng (President and CEO, the Africa-America Institute), Arsène Brice Bado (Director, Center for Research and Action for Peace), Lina Benabdallah (Associate Professor, Wake Forest University), and Jakkie Cilliers (Chairman of the Board and Head of African Futures & Innovation, the Institute for Security Studies). Supported by The Andrew Carnegie Foundation, this new network will connect African think tanks, academic centers, and research institutions, among others, directly with U.S-based policy conversations.
This event is made possible by the generous support of the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
