The CSIS Africa Program is launching a new cohort-based fellowship that connects mid- to senior-level African analysts, researchers, and institutions directly into U.S.–Africa policy conversations in Washington.
Supported by a grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, and guided by a distinguished advisory board, the fellowship connects and strengthens platforms for African leadership in global governance discussions. Over a one-year term, fellows engage directly with U.S. policymakers and CSIS scholars to collaborate on research projects that advance innovative African-led analysis on the questions shaping African countries’ relations with the U.S. and the continent's global engagement.
This project is made possible through the generous support of the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
The conversation will take stock of a rapidly evolving U.S.-Africa relationship, identify common priorities, and share models for incorporating African perspectives in policy processes.

The Advisory Board plays a strategic role in shaping the initiative’s direction and overall impact. Drawing on their diverse expertise and commitment to elevating emerging African voices, board members help ensure that the Platform for U.S.- Africa Policy Exchange supports new perspectives to inform, shape, and lead global policy conversations through research, evidence, and analysis. Board members serve two-year terms, subject to renewal.
