On the strength of one link of the cable,

Dependeth the might of the chain.

Who knows when thou may'st be tested?

So live that thou may bearest the strain!

— Fifth Law of the Navy, Lieutenant Ronald. A. Hopwood (1896)

Please join the CSIS International Security Program for a virtual discussion with Rear Admiral Mike Studeman, U.S. Navy (Ret.) on his recent book, Might of the Chain: Forging Leaders of Iron Integrity (Stone Tower Press, 2024).
