Dr. Jérôme Sansonetti is a visiting fellow in the Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where he focuses on European security and nuclear deterrence. A career diplomat, he worked in the nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation department of France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Prior to that, he worked at the World Bank, where he conducted impact evaluations. He holds a PhD in economics from Sciences Po Paris, and master’s degrees from HEC Paris and the Paris School of Economics. He was posted in Burundi, Afghanistan, and Tanzania.
