Maylene Shanbrom

Maylene Shanbrom is the assistant director for the Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy and Executive Education at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. She manages the department's core functions and runs select Executive Education programs. She previously worked as a learning and development associate with Executive Education, supporting the creation and execution of programs that provide global leaders with development opportunities in foreign policy. She was responsible for CSIS’s Asia-focused Executive Education programs, including courses on China’s rise as a global superpower and its Belt and Road Initiative. She graduated with honors from Vassar College with a BA in international studies and a minor in Chinese. She has also studied at Peking University and interned in Beijing. Prior to joining CSIS, she worked in Los Angeles as a strategic communications consultant.
