Raj Sawhney
Raj Sawhney is the founder and CEO of Satnam Energy, where he transforms complex energy data into actionable strategies that accelerate clean energy deployment in emerging markets. His expertise spans energy policy, techno-economic modeling, and transition finance. Previously a fellow at the Energy Futures Initiative Foundation, Raj helped design the Hydrogen Demand Initiative, a Department of Energy–funded program creating demand-side support mechanisms for clean hydrogen offtake. At Satnam Energy, he provides energy policy analysis, capacity-expansion modeling, and project finance support to governments, multilaterals, and investors across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America, with recent engagements in India, Kenya, Brazil, and Europe. Raj also chairs the African Hydrogen Partnership's modeling team, developing infrastructure priorities and cost pathways for hydrogen deployment across the continent. He holds a BS in mathematics and computer science from Harvey Mudd College and an MS in computational and applied mathematics from Claremont Graduate University.
