DoD Contracts Report

Leveraging the unique capabilities developed by CSIS over years of government contracting analysis to analyze Department of Defense contract trends

This website analyzes contracting for products, services, and research & development (R&D) by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and its key components. It provides an in-depth look at the trends currently driving nearly 70 percent of all federal contract dollars throughout the growth and subsequent inflection of defense spending of the 2000 to 2012 study period.

This site provides the figures and tables from the latest version of the report. They are supplemented by new graphs cross referenced by five defense components (Army, Navy, Air Force, DLA, and "Other DoD") and by area (Products/Services/R&D). This site is a living repository. Throughout the year, the study team will publish the data underlying shorter pieces on key issues relevant to the defense-industrial base.
