To secure and sustain its leadership in AI development, the United States must adopt a comprehensive strategy that integrates technological innovation with robust infrastructure planning. The CSIS Economic Security and Technology Department recently launched a new initiative exploring the intersection of AI, technology, and energy policy. Our goal is to create a cohesive framework for addressing the critical infrastructure gaps in data centers and energy systems needed to support AI’s rapid growth. CSIS aims to identify where policy interventions will help ensure the U.S. sustains and grows its lead in AI.
Please join the CSIS Economic Security and Technology Department for our event on ensuring U.S. leadership in AI on November 13th from 9:00 am - 10:15 am. Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO) and Congressman Garret Graves (R-LA) will share views from Congress. The event will feature additional remarks from Chris Lehane, Vice President of Global Affairs at OpenAI, Chris Miller, author of Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology, Tanya Das, Director of the Energy Program at the Bipartisan Policy Center, Saif Khan, Counselor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce for Critical and Emerging Technology, and Neil Chatterjee, Former Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
